The New River / Mount Rogers Workforce Investment Area
The New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Investment Board (NRV/MR WIB) serves the people of Bland,
Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Pulaski, Smythe, Wythe, and Washington Counties and
the Cities of Bristol, Galax, and Radford.
Supported by federal and state funds and local service agencies, the NRV/MR WIB shows its
commitment to the region's quality of life by helping people find jobs and train for better
careers. Qualified adults and youths can visit the One-Stop Centers for training, job and career
counseling, and other job-related information.
The WIB programs and activities carry out the Workforce Investment Act, which was written to
address human needs associated with employment in each region, The Board is made up of local
leaders and citizens so that all people and their interests are represented.
